About

Lagos Jazz Sessions started in 2021 as forty people on plastic chairs behind the Freedom Park amphitheatre. Volume 12 is the biggest yet: three acts, one stage, and a night that runs from a quiet opening set at 7 pm to a full band closing around 10:30.

Expect original compositions alongside reworked highlife and Afrobeat standards. Food and drink come from the park's own kitchens — no outside vendors — and the bar takes cards and transfers.

If it is your first Session, come early: the best seats are the low wall under the almond trees, and they go first.

Before you come

Your ticket is a QR code in this app and in the SMS we send. No printing needed, and it works without signal.
Gates open 6 pm. Music starts 7 pm sharp. Entry closes at 9:30 pm.
Bring an ID that matches the name on the booking. 18 and over only.
Parking inside the park is limited to 80 cars. The Broad Street car park is a 5-minute walk.
Open air. If it rains the show moves under the covered pavilion and starts 30 minutes late — you will get a message.
Phones are fine. Professional cameras and recording gear are not, unless accredited.

Alternative soul, acoustic guitar and a three-piece horn section. Sessions regular since Vol. 4.

Ojuelegba Quartet

Piano, upright bass, drums and trumpet. Standards and a few of their own to open the night gently.

All 150 early bird tickets went in 4 days. General tickets are the final release; there will be no door sales this time. Tables for 4 include reserved seating at the front and a bottle of wine.
